Why should I use SealBoss Aluminum Injection Packers | Aluminium Injection Packers ?

SealBoss Evolution aluminum mechanical injection packers save you money.

Modeled after the mighty, tested and proven, SealBoss S-Type steel packer, the aluminum injection packer is an economic alternative and considered an adequate and good choice for many standard injection applications. The aluminum packer is not quite as strong at the limit as a SealBoss S-Type steel packer and does not come in a many variants as the SealBoss B-Type brass packers available.

In conclusion, SealBoss aluminum injection packers are the economic alternative for most standard injection scenarios. They are less expansive and much lighter to carry around, and more affordable to ship.

What is the Limitation of the Evolution Aluminum Injection Packer ?

We recommend to try new packers next to established packers on the jobsite.

It is always a good idea for the injection professional to have a variety of packers on hand.  Crack injection applications can be challenging. Badly deteriorated substrates and very tight cracks and cold joints should always be injected with an injection packer of suitable dimensions and design.

SealBoss AL-Type Aluminum Injection Packers -- Aluminium for our non-American Friends

The AL-Type Packers work very well for typical every day injection needs and standard situations. However, for more challenging situations it would be recommended to keep some of the very high quality packers on hand. I would suggest that you give the aluminum packers a try and find out for yourself, if they are suited for your injection requirements.

The aluminum packer is the most economic alternative among the metal type packers and can save you a substantial amount of money an larger jobs.

SealBoss ® Packer Connectors are designed to provide a secure and tight fit during injection. Both couplers have pressure activated ‘moving parts’.

The Zerk Type Coupler is equipped with four prong/claws that push forward and strengthen grip with increasing injection pressures.

The Button Head Slide Coupler features a rubber seal that expands under pressure, and thus creating a compression seal in conjunction with the fitting of the injection packer.

Couplers are an important injection accessory often overlooked in their importance. Please always keep your couplers free of debris and in good mechanical working order.

SealBoss Couplers

Our Zerk Couplers and Button Head Slide Couplers have been designed to securely connect your grout injection line to the injection packer even under high injection pressures.

The standard Zerk Coupler with 4 prongs works well in most crack injection scenarios. It connects and disconnects quickly while providing a tight connection under pressure.

The Button Head Slide Coupler provides another level of security by sliding over the button head of the packer. Even a pull on the injection line will keep the connector in place. The connector does not always have to be held by the applicator. We recommend the slide coupler as an alternative to the standard zerk coupler for applications such as commercial tunnel jobs, overhead injection and single applicator injection.

The slide coupler is used with Plastic Button Head Packers for large volume injection such as curtain injection behind structures and slab lifting injection with plural component foam and pump systems.

Please keep your couplers clean and in good working order to keep your connection free of leaks and to maximize your positive injection experience.

SealBoss ® Brass Mechanical Packer Advantages

INJECTION PACKERS-MECHANICAL Brass PACKERS-SEALBOSS
SealBoss B-Type Packers Offer Extreme Variety in Diameters and Lengths

Why should I use Brass Injection Packers ?

SealBoss ® Brass mechanical injection packers cover the needs for many specialty applications where extreme packer dimensions are required. Very small packers are often needed to inject into grout lines between tiles. Very long packers are needed to carry the resin beyond a void such as found in some hollow block walls.

Brass injection packers are an economic alternative to steel injectors. The brass design permits high tightening forces for good friction between the expanded rubber sleeve and the concrete substrate.

What is the Advantage of Anti Return Valve Placement in the Shaft ?

On some jobs the packer necks are broken off with a hammer. For this purpose the packers are designed with defined breaking point lines. Any uncured resin still residing in the drill hole will be held back by the anti return valve in the stem even if the packer neck and zerk portion of the packer has been removed.

SealBoss B-Type Brass Injection Packers

The B-Type Brass Packers have you covered for specialty injection needs and situations where extreme sizes and lengths are required. From very small and thin to very long and large we typically have the right brass packer for you on the shelf. For even more extreme needs we also custom make packers as neccessary.

The brass construction is an economic alternative to the steel packers.

SealBoss Injection Guideline Part 2

Injection Packer Guideline

INJECTION PACKERS-MECHANICAL Brass PACKERS-SEALBOSS

How to Select Mechanical Injection Packers

Finding the Suitable Injection Packer

Injection packers and ports play a pivotal role in ensuring successful injections. At SealBoss, we pride ourselves on offering an extensive range of injection packers tailored to meet diverse needs. For those new to the field, selecting the ideal packer can seem overwhelming. To assist you, we’ve provided a concise overview of the various packer types and their unique features. Our collection encompasses a variety of designs, taking into account factors such as Packer Material Type, Diameter, Length, and Ball & Valve Location. Dive in to discover the perfect packer for your requirements.

Packer Material Type

Mechanical Injection Packer Body

SealBoss mechanical packers are made from different material including steel, brass, aluminum, zinc, various metal alloys and plastic. There are important differences in design and functionality for a variety of products, substrates and objectives. Contractor preferences and comfort levels are also a deciding factor.

Steel Injection Packers

SealBoss offers many heavy-duty steel packer variations. Steel offers the most strength and good resistance to oxidizing components found in acrylate/acrylic gels. SealBoss offers a wide variety of steel packers to suit all injection needs. Most packers are equipped with a rubber sleeve, some have a larger washer on the top of the packer to assist in the installation.

Brass , Aluminum, Zinc Injection Packers

Brass, aluminum & zinc packers are economical alternatives to steel packers with similar functionality. The overall strength is lower than steel, brass, zinc and aluminum packers bodies are softer. In some designs, the shaft can be broken off by hammer after injection thus leaving a flush surface. This is an advantage if removal of packer prior to patching is not specified.
Plastic

Plastic Injection Packers

Some permit low resistance, high volume product flow and very quick installation.

Button Head / Button Top Injection Packers

The SealBoss 5/8” (16mm) Button Head packer offers high volume flow with a button head (button top) coupler to minimize leakage. Insert the plastic sleeve in the drill hole and thread the plastic packer into the sleeve for a compression fit via the hex button head. Anti return valve: A steel ball placed in the shaft of the packer prevents product back-flow.

Hammer-In / Bang-In Injection Packers

The SealBoss Hammer-In port (Bang In Packer) is 3/8” (10mm) or 1/2” (13mm). The ports are inserted into the drill hole with the tap of a hammer. The plastic body of the packer creates a compression seal. The packers are set very quickly increasing productivity on the job site. Due to the lower friction fit, injection pressures are limited with this packer type.

Packer Construction Variations – Diameter, Length, Valves, Diameter

As a rule, and in addition to the packer material, a larger mechanical packer diameter permits higher injection pressures. 5/8” (16mm), ½” (13mm), 3/8” (10mm) and 1/4” (6mm) are most common diameters for man made structures, larger diameters are mostly utilized in rock and other natural structures. Caution: Packers and ports can exit the drill hole at high velocities under pressure. Correctly installed packers of the right dimensions will minimize this probability. In general, larger diameter packers prevent blow-out better than smaller packers.
