Packer Materials & Types
Injection packers and ports are key to effective injection. There are two main types: insertable mechanical packers and surface-mounted ports. SealBoss offers packers made from steel, brass, aluminum, zinc, metal alloys, and plastic, each suited to different substrates, applications, and contractor preferences.
Mechanical Packers
Mechanical packers have a rubber sleeve and threaded shaft that, when tightened, create a strong seal in the drill hole.
Steel Packers: Strong and durable, steel packers withstand high pressures. Most come with rubber sleeves and some have a large washer for easier installation.

Packer Sizes
Diameter: Size impacts fit and pressure capacity. Standard diameters (5/8”, 1/2”, 3/8”, 1/4”) provide strength and versatility. Larger sizes are suited for rock and high-pressure needs.

The 1/2″ mechanical packer is versatile for most projects. Steel packers are best for high pressures, while larger diameters reduce blow-outs. Longer packers are suited for damaged concrete or angled drilling.
